about the disease

The name of the disease is tetanus, also known as lockjaw.

The organisms affected are humans.

The cause of disease is through a bacterial infection, the bacteria that causes tetanus is Clostridium Tetani.

The disease is acquired when the bacteria goes in the bloodstream. This can happen when the contaminant such as waste, dirt or dust goes in the bloodstream and infects the body. An example would be when a drug user who uses dusty or dirty needles, the bacteria infects the bloodstream and releases a spore. If the spore germinates, then it releases three toxins. One of the toxins called Tetanospasmin will cause Tetanus. The disease can also happen after a wound or laceration, and the bacterium enters it from dirt or dust.
